Under Contract

When I woke up this morning I knew we’d be in for a long day.  Little did I know that I’d be spending basically the entirety of it talking finances, interest rates, credit scores, contract details and eating grocery deli fast food.

At 11:00am Saturday morning, we met with a real estate agent representing the builder of a house in construction that we’re interested in.  It’s out in the country in a town called Leeds; a smaller suburb of Birmingham.  She took us out to the lot where they were building three houses:

After looking at the properties, going over the floorplans, procedures of upgrading appliances, down payment options and lots of paperwork, we decided to go ahead and sign a contract of intent to purchase the home.  This basically means that no one can take the home away from us by an outbid.  We are still able to get out of the contract up until 30 days til we close on the property.  We’re very excited.  This house is by far the most bang for your buck house we’ve seen.
